I could have sworn that if you were over 16 and were with and over 18yr old you could go into a pub, you just coudnt buy drinks without a meal
As far as I know the law says that sixteen-year olds can in fact go into pubs unaccompanied, but are not allowed to consume alcohol. However, the law also says that all establishments have the right to refuse admission, and many pubs therefore ban under eighteens.
